* 4 classes (2.5 hrs each) * $200 + HST * 10 hours total * Level 2 (must have completed 1 garment sewing course or equivalent, and be comfortable using commercial patterns) Already know how to sew with commercial patterns but want to try something new with an instructor by your side? Join us for sewing guidance, tips, and weekly demonstrations to improve your sewing technique. We'll help you purchase the right supplies, show you how to adjust your pattern for a better fit, and guide you through the garment construction process. Happy sewing! Demonstrations: Week 1 - introduction, adjusting your pattern for fit, gathering Week 2 - regular zipper installation Week 3 - stitch-in-the-ditch Week 4 - buttonholes NOTE: Supplies not included. Here's a list of the items you will need: - sewing machine - basic sewing kit - commercial pattern - any notions required for your garment - fabric for your project If you would like to pick up supplies, we carry a large selection of notions (zippers, interfacing, thread, chalk, pins, hook and eyes, muslin, etc.), a fabulous collection of Vogue, Butterick, McCall's, and Burda patterns, and sewing kits! Here's a list of the items in our sewing kit ($42 + HST): - a spool of thread (100% polyester, all purpose thread) - pins - pin cushion - scissors - flexible measuring tape - sewing gauge - seam ripper - tailor's chalk - tracing wheel - tracing/transfer paper - hand-sewing needles There will be fun homework in this course (purchasing fabric for your project, washing it, cutting it out) but this takes time. Please be prepared to do your homework outside of class.
CANCELLATION POLICY ALL COURSE FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Please make sure that you are certain of your availability prior to registering/processing payment. If your schedule changes and you provide 5 days notice or more, only then can we offer you a credit to be used towards a future course or workshop. ATTENDANCE POLICY It is your own responsibility to attend your classes and arrive on time. If you need to miss one class, please notify your instructor as soon as you can. If there's another suitable class available for you to join as a make-up, you're welcome to. If not, you can also schedule a private or semi-private lesson at your convenience. NOTE: All make-ups are subject to availability/not guaranteed and must take place in the same week as the missed class. LIABILITY WAIVER Our sewing classes are for adults only (18 yrs +). All activities and/or programs performed with The Sewing Junction (hereafter referred to as "TSJ") via video lessons, or at TSJ shall be at his or her own risk, and you hereby release and discharge TSJ, its owner(s), officers, directors, agents, franchisees, franchisors or employees from any liability, claims, demands, injury, damage, action or cause of action whatsoever, which may result from the use of the services or facilities of TSJ on the premises and online where the same or any and all acts of TSJ, its officers, directors, agents, franchisees, franchisors or employees may be rendered or carried out pursuant to this Agreement. By registering for a class, you agree that you have carefully read and understood the Liability Waiver and agree to be bound by it. METHODS OF PAYMENT AND TAXES Purchases made on our website are processed through Square, Inc. Purchases in-store can be made with credit card or cash. Taxes are not included in our prices unless specifically mentioned, but will be added in the checkout process. ONLINE PURCHASES We reserve the right at any time to reject, correct, cancel, or terminate any purchase. If you order goods or services for which the price was incorrectly displayed, we will provide you with an opportunity to cancel your purchase with full refund. If your order includes goods or services that are not available, we will notify you by email. We reserve the right to limit quantities sold.
