* 4 classes (2.5 hrs each) * $200 + HST * 10 hours total * Level 2 (must have completed 1 garment sewing course or equivalent, and be comfortable using commercial patterns) Already know how to sew with commercial patterns but want to try something new with an instructor by your side? Join us for sewing guidance, tips, and weekly demonstrations to improve your sewing technique. We'll help you purchase the right supplies, show you how to adjust your pattern for a better fit, and guide you through the garment construction process. Happy sewing! Demonstrations: Week 1 - introduction, adjusting your pattern for fit, understitching Week 2 - lapped zipper installation Week 3 - concave and convex curves (clipping v.s. notching) Week 4 - shirring NOTE: Supplies not included. Here's a list of the items you will need: - sewing machine - iron and ironing board - basic sewing kit - commercial pattern - fabric for your project - any notions required for your garment If you would like to pick up supplies at our studio, just email email@example.com to place your order! We carry: - a large selection of notions (thread, chalk, pins, zippers, interfacing, hook and eyes, rulers, pressing tools, and so much more) - commercial patterns (Vogue, Butterick, McCall's, and Burda) - sewing kits Here's a list of the items in our sewing kit ($42 + HST): - a spool of thread (100% polyester, all purpose thread) - pins - pin cushion - scissors - flexible measuring tape - sewing gauge - seam ripper - tailor's chalk - tracing wheel - tracing/transfer paper - hand-sewing needles There will be fun homework in this course (purchasing fabric for your project, washing it, cutting it out) but this takes time. Please be prepared to do your homework outside of class.
CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY ALL COURSE FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Please make sure that you are certain of your availability prior to registering/processing payment. If your schedule changes and you provide 5 days notice or more, only then can we offer you a credit to be used towards a future course or workshop. If we need to cancel a class for any reason, your class fee will be fully refunded in this case only. ATTENDANCE POLICY It is your responsibility to attend your classes and arrive on time. If you need to miss a class, please notify your instructor as soon as you can. If there's another suitable class available for you to join, you're welcome to attend one make-up class. If a suitable make-up option is not available, you can schedule a private or semi-private lesson at your convenience. Please see our Private Lessons page for details. NOTE: All make-ups and private lessons are subject to availability/not guaranteed and must take place in the same week as the missed class. ONLINE PURCHASES While we appreciate class registration and interest, there may be times that we will need to cancel, correct, or decline class purchases, and we reserve the right to do so at any time. An opportunity for a full refund will be provided in this case.
